    1. Leonora Piper (1857-1950): An American psychic medium who was the most scientifically tested medium of the 20th century. She impressed scholars like William James with her apparent psychic abilities and inspired a wealth of research into mediumship.
    2. Eusapia Palladino (1854-1918): An Italian spiritualist medium who despite being caught in deceptive séance sessions, was also reputed to produce genuine physical phenomena. Renowned psychical researchers like Cesare Lombroso and Pierre Janet were convinced of her abilities.
    3. Allison DuBois: Known for her supposed psychic abilities, her life inspired the TV series “Medium.” Despite the controversy and skepticism surrounding DuBois, she has worked with law enforcement agencies on certain cases, claiming numerous successes.
    4. John Edward: Known for his television shows “Crossing Over with John Edward” and “John Edward Cross Country.” He is a renowned psychic medium known for communicating with the deceased. Like many other mediums, his abilities are disputed, however, he has a large following of believers.
    5. The Fox Sisters (Leah, Margaret, and Kate): They are known to have started the Spiritualism movement in the late 1800s in Hydesville, New York, claiming to communicate with spirits through a series of knocks. Later on, they admitted it was a hoax, only to recant their admission.
    6. Daniel Dunglas Home (1833-1886): Scottish medium famous for his wide range of phenomena. Many reputable people in the 19th century vouched for him, including Queen Sophia of the Netherlands.
    7. Estelle Roberts (1889–1970): British medium who claimed to use clairvoyance, clairaudience and clairsentience along with her spirit guide named “Red Cloud” in her demonstrations.
    8. Doris Stokes (1920-1987): A popular British medium and spiritualist, she wrote several best-selling books about her practice and appeared frequently on television and in live shows.
    9. Edgar Cayce (1877-1945): Known as the “Sleeping Prophet”, Cayce gave thousands of psychic readings during his lifetime, often while in a sleep-like trance state. His readings covered a wide range of topics, from healing and past lives to prophecy.
    10. Arthur Ford (1896-1971): Notable American spirit medium who claimed to have contacted the late Houdini. He was a founder of the Spiritual Frontiers Fellowship.
