10. Smash and Grab

Briefing

Martin Scholz reported a break-in into his car, explaining that a Rolex, a family heirloom, and his mobile phone were stolen. Martin was in a shop across the street at the time of the incident. • Orcha smartphone — supplied during the investigation.

Memory chips (1)

  • Korellia memory chip — extracted from the damaged smartphone.

Case conclusion

Investigations conclude that Martin Scholz and Jens Albrecht had coordinated a staged break-in into Martin's vehicle. Martin had created an alibi by visiting Renate Küster's shop at the time of the alleged crime. Finding Martin's phone next to a trash bin and analyzing it suggests that most recent messages went to Jens, right before the break-in. Jens' mobile phone revealed the deleted messages that could not be recovered from Martin's phone, exposing the coordinated insurance fraud case.

The case is now closed.

Architect Boris Kramer was found dead in his office, the result of severe blunt force trauma. The body has already been removed from the scene. • Blood sample — associated with the gold-plated brick.

Fingerprints (1)

  • 1 extracted from the gold-plated brick using the fuming chamber.

Case conclusion

The investigation establishes that Falk Hagen is responsible for the death of Boris Kramer. DNA recovered from the blood on the gold-plated brick confirms it was used in the assault, while the fingerprint on the object proves Falk Hagen handled the weapon. Digital evidence from his mobile phone places him at the "Trabantenstadt" construction site shortly after the estimated time of death, directly contradicting his alibi. Physical evidence further supports this: Falk Hagen deliberately switched his own dirt-covered dress shoes with the victim's clean shoes to conceal his presence at the burial site. Together, the digital and physical evidence confirm that Falk Hagen killed Boris Kramer during an argument over the potential sale of the firm, disposed of the weapon at their construction site, and attempted to fabricate an alibi.

Reference DNA profiles (1)

  • Lars Neumann.

Reference projectiles (1)

  • 1 produced by test-firing the recovered GA-20C pistol.

Case conclusion

Ben Keller and Lars Neumann had an altercation in Ben's apartment. A physical confrontation took place in which Lars injured himself on some glass shards. Ben then fired a warning shot with no intention of hitting Lars and hid the gun next to the bed. Lars fled the apartment after the shot and Ben moved the picture frame on the wall behind the couch in an attempt to cover up the hole and projectile stuck in his wall. In fear of his neighbors calling the police, Ben booked a hotel room via StayBox and left the scene. Both men share a history of petty theft and fencing stolen goods together, which explains why Lars did not report the altercation to the police and can't be found.
