Cortelli is the WinterICE communications officer.
Biography
Cortelli's ability to wring a signal out of even the most outdated comms lash-up has gained the team vital intelligence on earlier missions. Director Silas HansonDirector Silas Hanson
Silas Hanson in Entrapped
Director Hanson in Enigma
''"Lethal force, captain. Shoot to kill."'' - Director Silas Hanson
Silas Hanson is the director of operations at the National Security Executive. He is the primary antagonist of Second Sight.
Biography
He instigated a number of advanced programs. Unfortunately he is very much of the opinion that the ends justify any means and has become detached from the moral implications of his US Zener Project|work.
Appearance
Silas Hanson mainly appears wearing expensive, tailored suits. It is obvious that he maintains his appearance of a neat, clean gentleman. His appearance shows that he means business and is also considered ruthless and bitter. His intelligence is of an exceptional advanced level while adding his cunningness and deception behind it, allowing him to hide his intentions. He expects those that work under him to not waste time and to provide excellent and up to standard progress in their duties, or else they would be prepared to face the consequences.
Story
Silas Hanson is the main antagonist in the story. We first see him in the, end "Escape" cutscene, scanning through the files of the Zener Children until he's interrupted when he receives an urgent call from the security force down at the Osiris Medical Facility. They tell him that John Vattic has escaped from the area and it is obvious that Hanson is not pleased, knowing that John is a threat to him along with the psychic abilities that he has already obtained. He firmly tells them that he does not expect to hear from anyone until they have captured him....adding coldly that they were wasting precious time.
The next time we see him is through another cutscene, beginning "Entrapped"....knowing that John Vattic has been around the Penfold Asylum in Vermont and has managed to break Jayne Wilde out. He gives the Captain of the National Security Executive|NSE, who tells him that the two have escaped through the storm drains, the order to shoot to kill. Unfortunately the NSE soldiers fail to capture them in the sewers but Hanson sends his NSE agents to the neighborhood of Colonel Joshua Starke in the Tenements, NYC, believing that John and Jayne may make their way around there. A short time later after John manages to find Colonel Starke, the NSE agents meanwhile successfully capture Jayne, and she is brought to the NSE Headquarters.
Hanson is seen again during a cutscene, beginning "Childcare" when John has bravely made his way down in the upper levels of the Zener Research Facility by going through the elevator of the Dubrensk church. He is definitely not happy when one of his soldiers report that one of them had made it further into the base. He is with two shock troopers as well as Professor Viktor Grienko, who appears to be watched like a hawk by the two latter. They are impatient with him for taking long to sort out the necessary files needed for the major research on the Zener Children, one that Grienko is truly fond of. Hanson tells him to hurry up but privately gives an order to one of the shock troopers, to kill him once he was done gathering the important notes.
In the cutscene, end "Confrontation", John confronts Hanson in his office, ready to take him down as well as revealing that he knew what actually happened down at Russia. Though Hanson denies the killing of the Zener Children but counters back saying that it was in the bloody hands of Colonel Starke and the other members of WinterICE, including John himself. When John uses his telekinesis power, lifting him in mid-air, he is stopped by two shock troopers, who have Jayne with them, held at gunpoint. He triumphantly tells John that there was no way that he could change the past.
Unfortunately for Hanson, John manages to do so.....as the mission is still continuing down in Russia and all the "flashbacks" that John had been having, were merely close perspectives of the Future, if he and the others had failed the mission. Hanson is seen during the progress of the mission "Redemption"; John confronts Silas, who stands behind glass that is both bulletproof and psychic-proof. Silas summons soldiers to deal with John, who releases the captured Zener Children to help him. Silas, impressed by the psychics' powers and teamwork, especially John's abilities, mocks them with the fact that they cannot reach him due to the glass. However, the Zener Children take advantage of the knowledge that the metal mainframe surrounding the glass is neither bullet nor psychic-proof, and use their telekinesis to make the metal break the glass, shattering Hanson's confidence. With the glass broken, the children confront a terrified Hanson. In the end, the corrupt corporate leader is surrounded by the Zener Children, and meets his fate as they tear at him.
Relationships
It is clear that Hanson has a tight, firm connection with the security forces and doctors of the Osiris Medical Research Facility, Penfold Asylum and the NSE (National Security Executive) Headquarters. Though his only intention is to have a better, advanced army of Psychic soldiers, using the major research created by Professor Viktor Grienko. He had travelled to Russia with his men, in the hopes of having the Zener Children, Professor Grienko and the other doctors killed but extracting tissue samples from the children and bringing it back around to America to fulfill his ambitions.
He has shown his immediate dislike of the WinterICE team, especially Doctor John Vattic. However, at the same time he had a particular interest in John because he had the same psychic abilities like the Zener Children, hoping to make him much stronger.....overall becoming an obedient killing machine/leader of his possible newly created psychic army.

John Vattic is the protagonist and player character of Second Sight.
Biography
John Vattic is a wikipedia:Massachusetts Institute of Technology|MIT scientist whose principle research work is investigating the underlying scientific credibility of wikipedia:parapsychology|parapsychology. He was co-opted onto the WinterICE squad under the recommendation of Jayne Wilde. Six months later he finds himself picking up the pieces of a shattered life - what happened to WinterICE?
Story
John wakes up in a Osiris Medical Facility|hospital injured and subconsciously uses powers to escape his restraints. He is shocked at how he did it and attempts to use his power to open a locked door which works. After walking a bit John claims that he is to physically weakened to move on and suddenly activates another power realizing that it can heal and uses it to restore his strength. He suddenly encounters two guards and is forced to kill them in self defense. He finds a keycard and uses it to access a computer to turn on the elevator. While in it John starts hearing voices in his head which leads him to remember six months ago, when he was signed up to join a squad of soldiers, WinterICE, and was trained in armed combat and climbing obstacles.
After training, John joins the briefing where they are assigned a mission in Siberia to find a scientist named Professor Viktor Grienko but questions why he was chosen to be in the squad. In the present John finishes his memory now aware of the training techniques that were taught to him but when exiting the elevator is confronted by a guard attempting to detain him. John accesses a hidden power which he kills the guard with. John makes his way to the computer room learning Charm in the process, which makes him invisible. When searching for his squamates on the computer he learns that one of his squamates Jayne Wilde was killed in action during the mission in Siberia and then starts to remember what happened at the time.
WinterICE, now in Western Siberia, are heading to the United_States_HydroCarb|United States HydroCarb Pipeline Station, when they are attacked by unknown Russian troops. While outside the station, and still in a gunfight with the troops occupying the station, Jayne, unexpectedly, runs towards the building. John is ordered to follow her in, and John informs Jayne the room is about to explode. Colonel Joshua Starke|Colonel Starke, believing them to be possibly injured, sends Juan Carlos 'JC' Verdes|JC in to assist them if possible. After discovering Grienko's location, the WinterICE team discuss the enemy's origin. Jayne thanks John for saving her.
Back in the future, John discovers that Jayne is actually alive, however in a mental asylum, apparently with schizophrenia. John, confused, makes his way out of the hospital (learning Projection and the enhanced PSI blast in the process) and steals a car. He arrives to the Penfold Asylum, enhances his Telekinesis, and rescues Jayne. After escaping into the sewers, John asks about Starke. Jayne, who was, beforehand, mentally disabled, but now recovered, tells John that Starke is dead, and asks why he doesn't know, as he was there.
John revisits the Huvat Plateau, in a camp set up by WinterICE, where John and Starke are on nightwatch. After Starke talks about Jayne's previous successes, such as sensing a hidden nuclear bomb in a briefcase, John sees something, and begins following it, with Starke behind him. They are attacked by snipers, and they make their way towards a camp set up in an abandoned warehouse by the Russian troops. After investigating, John discovers that all information on Grienko is being wiped, and informs Starke. After more gunfights, Starke is apparently possessed, and leads John to some train tracks. After following the tracks, Starke falls into a hole and is surrounded by Russian guerilla soldiers. The thing John saw, and the thing which possessed Starke, reappears, and speaks to John, telling him to save the Zener Children|children, and gives John his powers, including possession, and John fights off the Russian soldiers. After they have all been killed, Starke thanks Vattic and investigates the bodies. He discovers a US radio on one of the soldiers.
Back in the present, Jayne informs Vattic that Starke went into hiding. Jayne and Vattic escape the sewers under the Penfold Asylum, and make their way to the Tenements|tenements where Starke is hidden. After befriending the neighborhood's gang, he finds Starke, who before noticing John, put a gun to his head. Starke tells John that the other members of WinterICE are dead, and John remembers the past again.
WinterICE, now outside Dubrensk, are attacked by more Russian soldiers. After fighting off soldiers, John discovers the entrance to Grienko's Zener Research Facility|research facility, however the entrance is closed before they reach it. Martha Franklin|Franklin, however, finds a key on a dead guard, and John finds the door to a hallway. At the end of the hallway, John finds a woman in a lab coat being shot at. Jayne falls, but John catches her, however, Jayne tells him to go. After fighting off the Russian soldiers shooting at her, she has fallen to the ground, and is near death. She tells John that he and he alone must go save the children, as they might hurt the rest of the team out of fear. He accepts the mission.
Back in the present, John and Starke fight off NSE agents in an attempt to get to the exit. While Starke holds off more NSE soldiers, Jayne is kidnapped before John can do anything about it. He makes his way to NSE Headquarters, where he finds information on the Zener Project, and the weaponization of the psychic abilities.
Back in the past, John, alone, makes his way to the back door of the Zener Research Facility. After fighting Black Ops|NSE Black Ops, he enters the church, and uses an elevator to go down. Meanwhile, in the present, John makes his way through the NSE building, and kills Hanson's "samples". He then confronts Hanson, and he reveals that he has Jayne, as well as a Black Ops soldier with a pistol to her head. John begins to go back to the past, but he's shot.
In the research facility, John rescues the five Zener Children. Afterwards, he finds Grienko, who seems to be ignorant on Hanson's intention to kill him and the children. He hides before he is spotted by Black Ops who enter the room, and kill Grienko. After escaping them and making his way down towards Hanson, he has several visions of the future, which are earlier levels in the game. He learns that the supposed past is actually the present. He makes his way down to Hanson, who taunts him through PSI-proof windows. He watches as John and the children kill soldier after soldier, commenting on their effectiveness constantly. After a while his army runs dry, and the children, as well as the mutated Zener children, break the frame of the windows. The children then appear to eat Hanson alive.
After he escapes, John is airlifted out of Russia by US Marines, along with Jayne and Starke.
Powers & Abilities
=Psychic Powers
=
John Vattic developed psychic abilities during the WinterICE mission, an outcome that probably factored into Jayne Wilde's clairvoyant selection of him as a consultant on the operation. With his powers he became a formidable foe against professional soldiers, mercenary's and other psychic users.
*'''Telekinesis''': This ability allows John to interact/lift up/throw objects and people without physically touching them.
**'''Telekinetic Attack''': Developed in a moment of terror, Vattic learned how to use his telekinesis offensively, lifting people in the air and choking the very life out of them.
*'''Healing''': This ability allows John to recover stamina. The amount of stamina regained is directly proportional to the amount of psychic energy expended. John is rendered immobile during the Healing process.
*'''Psi Pulse''': This ability allows John to convert raw psychic energy into a devastating shockwave attack. It is his sole purely-offensive ability and last-ditch defensive move when he is out of ammunition or does not want to risk using firearms.
**'''Radial Blast''': This ability allows John to hurl a "sphere" of condensed psychic energy at the foe. Even when surrounded, he can throw an entire squad of attackers flat on their backs in one fell swoop.
*'''Telepathic Charm''': John uses his psychic abilities to telekinetically influence the foe and implant thoughts into their head. It's main use is to misguide the foe, making them unaware of John's presence. The Charm effect is immediately dispelled when John comes into contact with the Charmed foe. The Charm ability fails when used in plain sight of the foe.
**'''Calming Charm''': When he goes to rescue Wilde from an institution, Vattic is able to use his Charm ability to calm her pharmacologically-induced mania enough that she can stay lucid and follow his lead in their escape.
*'''Projection''': This ability allows John to telekinetically project himself out of his own body. This projection appears as an ethereal version of himself. While using this, John has limited contact with the physical world. It also leaves his physical body immobile.
**'''Possession''': This ability allows John to put his astral form into another's body and take control of a foe's mind through psychic influence. The Possessed person can then be freely controlled. It is temporary, however.
*'''Precognition''': This ability allows John to see into the future and change the Timeline. He developed this ability in the midst of suffering a psychotic break, to the point that he believed he was having flashbacks of the past, but those flashbacks were allowing him to change the "present", not realizing until the end that he was actually experiencing a future state then subconsciously using his future knowledge to avoid the outcome.
=Main Combat
=
Prior to the WinterICE mission, John Vattic received a crash course in military operations, firearms usage, and combat.
*'''Guns Expert''': Vattic received firearms training in preparation for the WinterICE mission. He showed good marksmanship proficiency, which is why he tended to use a long-range rifle to pick off enemies from a distance and thus avoid close-range combat.
*'''Hand-to-Hand''': Vattic also received hand-to-hand training for use in close-quarters combat.
*'''Infiltration''': Not being a trained soldier, Vattic tended to take a quieter approach, opting to infiltrate rather than use force for entry or exit. He was a skilled climber, using his athleticism to get into and out of locations where he could not simply go through the front door.
=Education
=
Dr. John Vattic holds a PhD in psychology and works as a researcher at MIT.
*'''Research''': John Vattic spent many years in school to receive his PhD - several years beyond as a parapsychology researcher - and is thus familiar with performing academic research. This aids him in locating key information scattered around the areas he infiltrates.
*'''Psychology''': Vattic's specialty is in understanding human psychology, which is what aids him in understanding other people, their motivations, and what they are likely to do. This also helps him out after he awakens with amnesia, as he is able to use his analytical skills to examine his mental state and to avoid sinking into psychosis.

Relationships
=
Before joining WinterICE, John was one of Jayne's biggest opponents in the psychic community. While Jayne thoroughly believed and practiced psychic abilities, John was always there to deny it, saying that only his scientific method could be proven by facts. However, Jayne predicted that John would be of great help on the WinterICE mission and requested that he be recruited alongside her.
=
As the commanding officer of WinterICE, Starke was the first person John met in Kastein and became his most trusted friend in the squad.
=
After he was inducted into WinterICE, John got to know each of its squad members. However, he never visits them after the mission.
=
While in Dubrensk, the Zener Children helped John to discover his psychic abilities, so that he would help them escape. Following the events of Enigma, John was blamed for the death of the children.
=
The original objective of WinterICE was to apprehend Grienko and investigate his Zener Project|project. However, when Grienko discovered John's connection to the Zener Children, he changed his tone.
=
Hanson was a leading figure in the research of psychic abilities, but often believed that ends justify any means. Hanson was responsible for incarcerating and experimenting on Vattic at the Osiris Medical Facility and the subsequent National Security Executive|NSE manhunt that followed his Escape.
Trivia
*John Vattic is voiced by Andrew Lawson.
*In the Flashback missions, John's glasses, hair color and hair style give him a faint resemblance to Harry Mason from the ''Silent Hill'' video game series. Likewise, at the start of their respective games neither have any experience with firearms before being forced to use them.

Jayne WildeJayne Wilde

Jayne Wilde in Teamwork
Jayne in Madness
''"Perhaps you've never met a real one?"'' - Jayne Wilde

Jayne Wilde is a Civilian Advisor for WinterICE.
Biography
Jayne Wilde's claims to possess Precognition|precognitive abilities are taken very seriously by the military command and Wilde's psychic advice has apparently guided the team away from potential disaster on a number of occasions. John Vattic has been co-opted onto the WinterICE team under Jayne's recommendation.
Story
She has been a huge guide towards the team, successfully leading them away from potential disasters. Colonel Joshua Starke, during a conversation with John Vattic, while they were on-duty one night, had told him that on one mission she had been right about a terrorist cell and a briefcase nuke. He had hoped that she was right about Professor Viktor Grienko's intentions to create a world of a psychic race and the fact that John had these special abilities of a psychic. Indeed, she was right about both. Her predictions on the future are taken very seriously by the team. Apparently when John completes his training by a few members of WinterICE, he meets up with her....seemingly again....as they have appeared to have known each other awhile back during a briefing on their mission to investigate Professor Grienko's connections to Siberia, John was very reluctant to accompany them there when Jayne interrupts, saying that there was "no one that could save them". John is seen here, showing his dislike towards the woman whom he claims to attack "his work" everytime he publishes his thoughts.
In one of John Vattic's "flashbacks", on the mission, Fieldwork, when they and the rest of the WinterICE team reach the [United States Hydrocarb|USHC]] Pipeline Station, Jayne somehow sees a projection of a small unknown child and proceeds to follow it towards a small shed that is situated meters away from the others. Colonel Starke sends John to follow her. Both John and Jayne are trapped inside the station, obviously finding their way out. However, though when they reach the control room after fighting their way through Russian Soldiers who appeared to be patrolling the building, find out through a computer on the whereabouts of Professor Grienko. He has a base known to be located in a village called Dubrensk which was 15 km North of where they currently were. After fighting more Russian soldiers, Jayne thanks John for saving her, and they move further out towards their destination.
When John's mind returns him back to the "present", the computer now tells him that Jayne was now "Incarcerated". Originally during the cutscene of "Experimentation" when John reaches the Patient Records room, approaching towards a computer, it explained that Jayne was "Killed In Action". But since he had saved her life, it strangely prevented her from being dead. John researched her whereabouts...….she was now kept in Penfold Asylum in Vermont. John easily escapes from the Osiris Medical Facility, focusing his mission to find Jayne. Soon John arrives at the Penfold Asylum, having to use his stealth to pass the security guards and orderlies as well as pretending to be a new employee towards the other doctors (who obviously have no clue on his identity.....never knowing that he was "Wanted" from escaping the Osiris Medical Research Facility and was considered a highly dangerous patient). John finds through a computer that Jayne was kept on the first floor, which was highly secured in the West Wing. Though he manages to sneak his way through and finally reaches her. Jayne, somehow appears to not know him straightaway as she appears to be distraught and confused. So it is clear that he has to help her escape from the Asylum. They make their escape along the rooftops of the building and taking an elevator to go down and reach a room, containing stairs leading to the storm drains. They do escape and Jayne regains her memory in recognizing John. He asks her to explain on what had happened to her, overall what was going on around them, but she tells him that she can't remember. And when he asked about Colonel Starke, she told him that he was dead.....he was shot and that John was there at that time.
Just like how he had saved Jayne in one of his "Flashbacks", he manages to save the Colonel during the mission, Reliance. In the next mission, "Entrapped", both John and Jayne fight their way out of the drain system, obviously having no choice but to take out most of the soldiers that were sent there with the orders to "shoot to kill". They escape, despite risking their lives and Jayne tells him that they needed to find the Colonel. She explains to John that she was given an address by him....a place to go if she ever ran into trouble. So they drive through to Colonel Starke's recent neighborhood in Tenements, NYC. Unfortunately though the area is patrolled by NSE (National Security Executive) agents. John leaves Jayne to find Colonel Starke while she continues to drive around and possibly find his apartment. John finds Colonel Starke who gives him confidential documents revealing on what had actually down at their Mission in Siberia, six months ago. Apparently they were set up and framed for murder on the Zener Children. In actuality, it was a man named Director Silas Hanson|Silas Hanson, the Director of the NSE and his troops that were responsible for that tragic incident. After when John and Colonel Starke battle with the NSE agents, who are trying to stop John from leaving the premises, he easily escapes their grasp and proceeds to find Jayne.
Unfortunately she is captured once again.....though his mission leads him to the NSE Headquarters. From there, John has another "Flashback".....focusing his mind on his quest to find Professor Grienko a few months ago. In the mission "Infiltration" an injured female doctor, Sasha Barranikov, tells John that he had to go alone to save the children as he had special psychic abilities just like them. Colonel Starke attempted to stop him from going forward.....knowing that his life was on the line....but Jayne tells him to let him go and that they had done all they can. Like Colonel Starke, she had hoped for John to return safely back. Soon John's mind returns him back to the "Present".....now knowing that he had to confront the director, once and for all. After a heavy intense battle with both the NSE agents and the Psychic Soldiers in the experimentation lab, John confronts Hanson. When John attempts to use his telekinesis power on him, lifting him unmercifully in mid-air he sees up above that they have Jayne, held at gunpoint by a shock trooper. John's mind acts up again.....the urge on wanting him to change the past...….once he is taken away....a gun shot is heard and Jayne screams....possibly because they shot John.
However, things were not over as John now proceeded to the lower levels to rescue the Zener Children. He had sighted the killing of Professor Grienko. During his path further deep down into the base....his mind causes him to visit the "places" he had recently gone through in order to place together the pieces of his life. Sooner or later he finds out that the flashbacks he had been having, were in fact NOT flashbacks at all but at a deep close look into the Future should they fail the mission. While all this time, the mission was still continuing and it was all up to him.
After battling the remaining soldiers and Hanson in the lower levels with the help of the Zener Children, John is then seen with Jayne and Colonel Starke who aid him towards a helicopter that lands perfectly in front of them. They are indeed happy with John's proven abilities and assistance, Jayne is seen giving him a little hopeful explanation.....possibly giving him her reason why she had believed in him from the very beginning.

Second SightSecond Sight
right]]
wikipedia:Second Sight (video game)|Second Sight is an action-adventure video game developed by Free Radical Design and published by Codemasters for wikipedia:Nintendo GameCube|Nintendo GameCube, wikipedia:Xbox|Xbox, wikipedia:PlayStation 2|PlayStation 2, and wikipedia:Microsoft Windows|Microsoft Windows. It was released on September 21, 2004. The storyline follows parapsychology researcher John Vattic and his attempts to recover his memory as well as the secrets behind his new mental powers.
The game begins with John Vattic, the protagonist, waking up in a Osiris Medical Facility|medical research facility. He has no memory of his past except for a mission that he went on six months before. His role in the mission was to be strictly advisory, but he finds himself going to Siberia with a group of U.S. Marines called WinterICE, and a psychic named Jayne Wilde, in search of a Russian scientist named Professor Viktor Grienko, whose secret research is beginning to draw attention from The Pentagon.
Vattic learns from a computer he finds in the medical facility that Wilde was killed on the mission. He then has a flashback, in which he prevents Wilde's death. Back in the present portion of the game, the computer now says that Wilde survived the mission as well. Vattic finds her in an Penfold Asylum|asylum in Vermont and rescues her. They escape into the sewers, and she tells him that the WinterICE team's commanding officer Colonel Joshua Starke was killed during the mission. Vattic then has a flashback in which he rescues Starke. During this flashback, one of Grienko's child test subjects awakens Vattic's psychic powers. Back in the present, Wilde informs Vattic that Starke is alive and that he gave her an address in which to contact him if she ever needed help. Vattic and Wilde then travel to the location to find him.
Vattic finds Starke in his apartment in Tenements|Queens, New York. Starke is surprised to see Vattic alive and says that the rest of WinterICE were killed in Siberia. Through a series of other flashbacks, Vattic is able to save the rest of WinterICE and make it to the village of Dubrensk. Soldiers have killed most of the villagers, but a dying survivor tells the squad that their Zener Children|children are the Zener Research Facility|research lab's test subjects, and that while they would kill the WinterICE team, they would accept Vattic due to his similar psychic abilities. Vattic infiltrates the research lab alone in his flashbacks to save the children, while also infiltrating the NSE Headquarters|headquarters of the National Security Executive (NSE) based on the evidence given to him by Starke in New York.
In doing so, he discovers the secret of Grienko's research and the true meaning of the mission. The main antagonist is revealed to be Director Silas Hanson|Hanson, the director of the NSE, who wanted to use Grienko's research into psychic abilities in order to create an army of psychic super soldiers. WinterICE was sent in to discover Grienko's research facility and dispatch anyone who got in the way; they could then secure Grienko's work for Hanson's evil program. Vattic confronts Hanson in his office and is ready to kill him, but backs down when it is revealed that Hanson has taken Wilde hostage. Placed in a no-win situation, Vattic intends to once again change the past via a flashback, using his current knowledge to stop Hanson's plans.
In his flashbacks, Vattic finds that Grienko's research project is in the process of being packed up for transport to the United States. Grienko and his staff believe they will be relocated as well, but the real orders are to kill them once the project is ready for transport. Grienko is killed according to plan, but Vattic continues to infiltrate the lower levels to try to save the children. The flashback is repeatedly interrupted by a series of flash-forwards, showing the various outcomes that Vattic has prevented so far via the actions in his other flashbacks. During these, Vattic discovers that he has not been having flashbacks at all. The WinterICE mission is still ongoing and incomplete, whereas all his experiences in the present are merely possible futures, and are a manifestation of one his mental abilities, precognition.
Now knowing the truth of his situation, Vattic confronts Hanson in the research facility, but he is once again placed in a seemingly unwinnable situation, with Hanson taunting him from behind a window impervious to both bullets and psionic powers. To aid him, Vattic releases the test subjects, referred to as the "Zener children", who were the basis of Grienko's original research. The Zener children help Vattic fight through many waves of soldiers with their psychic powers. After this long shootout, the Zener children use powerful telekinesis to pull away the frame of the glass and then attack and kill Hanson. After that, WinterICE and the troops arrive, raiding the facility. Starke and Wilde help an exhausted Vattic into the helicopter. Vattic then finds out through Wilde, why he was so important to the mission.
Gameplay
Second Sight emphasizes stealth and minor puzzle-solving over brute force. Vattic uses psionic abilities to supplement his conventional weapons. Being spotted triggers an alarm mode, increasing the number of guards, and they search for Vattic. The majority of the psychic powers are meant to be used defensively, avoiding detection or healing wounds.
Soundtrack
In 2006, Free Radical Design made the Second Sight soundtrack available for download on the company website, including printable album artwork.

Writing and Editing Help
Some tips for writing and contributing to a perfect topic:
1. '''Check there isn't already a topic about it using the search bar''' - just because there isn't an article of the exact same name, doesn't mean that it hasn't already been done.
2. '''Write a good introduction''' - tell people the basics of your article, so they can tell if they're on the right page.
3. '''Write the main body of your article''' - explain what it is, what it does, and how it does it. Write as much as you can about its in-game appearance and any relevance to the real world.
4. '''Add links '''- keep your page connected. Add links on your page to other articles, or add links to yours via others. This gives your article publicity, allowing it to flourish.
5. '''Add some pictures''' - try to illustrate the subject of your article, both in-game and in the real world.
6. '''Finally, categorise it''' - use the little bar at the bottom of the page to put your article in the correct place. There is currently a dense network of categories used in the wiki, so look at similar articles to see what you should file yours under.

The Tranquilizer in 1st person
The Tranquilizer in 3rd person
The Animal Tranquilizer is a hand weapon which fires micro-darts containing a fast acting neural toxin. The toxin is potent and incapacitating, but ultimately harmless. Since the toxin must reach the brain in order to take effect, the point of entry into the target's body is critical. Head shots are immediately effective, hits on other body parts will have a delayed action.

Zener children were used as test subjects in the Zener Project, under the care of Sasha Barranikov.
Biography
Children with the 'gift' were recruited from regional testing programmes all over the wikipedia:Soviet Union|USSR and brought by rail to the village of Dubrensk where they became subjects of Professor Viktor Grienko|Grienko's research. The vast majority were ultimately rejected and (according to official soucres) returned safely to their parents. The true success stories of the project were a small number of children with exceptional abilities. These Zener children were also distinguished by an unusual arrested development syndrome which left them in a perpetually pre-pubescent state.
